Predictable Implant Success
A Fundamentals-first approach to implant surgery

Course Overview:

Over the course of three days, this program delivers a fundamentals-first approach to implant dentistry, focusing on the biomechanical, biologic, and tissue-management principles that drive long term surgical success. Clinicians gain a deep understanding of how implant biology behaves - covering osseointegration, bone density, anatomy, and the pharmacologic factors that influence healing and stability. Radiology and diagnosis are explored in depth, including interpretation of periapical, panoramic, and CBCT imaging, along with the foundational concepts behind digital integration and guided surgery.

The program includes hands-on training in drilling protocols, motor setup, osteotome use, incision design, tissue management, and suturing. Also included is a dedicated dental assistant training designed to elevate operatory efficiency and reinforce the team’s impact on surgical success. The course concludes with a supervised live surgical procedure, giving participants the opportunity to surgically place an implant, apply their biologically driven approach, and leave with the confidence to deliver predictable single-implant cases.

Learning Objectives:

  • Evaluate anatomical structures and biologic factors that influence implant stability by analyzing radiographic data, bone density, and tissue behavior.
  • Apply foundational biomechanical and surgical principles to design evidence-based implant treatment plans driven by anatomy, biology, and long-term functional requirements.
  • Develop essential surgical technique proficiency through structured hands-on training in motor setup, drilling sequences, osteotome use, incision design, tissue management, and suturing.
  • Implement atraumatic extraction and socket preservation methods to maintain tissue architecture and support predictable implant outcomes.
  • Integrate biologically sound surgical workflows during a supervised live implant placement, demonstrating understanding of tissue response, biomechanics, and operative efficiency.

Live surgeries will be performed by Indiana-licensed dentists in a collaborative, mentorship-driven setting led by expert clinicians. Out-of-state participants, please inquire about licensure.
