Veteran Charitable Dental Event

3 DAY HANDS-ON COURSE WITH LIVE PATIENTS

Dr. Robert Horowitz, DDS
Machined implants were introduced to the world forty years ago. Since then, the concept of “modern” dental implants has matured from being considered experimental to what is now considered “standard of care.” And while the insertion and restoration of dental implants has become part of dental school curricula, intimidating challenges exist that restrict dentists from incorporating the surgical placement of implants into their practices. This course is designed to provide the dentist with the tools necessary to perform implant surgery successfully and safely in their practices.

The goals of this comprehensive multi-day, hands-on, live patient course include reviewing the benefits and limitations of dental implants; establishing criteria to select candidates for dental implant surgery based on their health, quality and quantity of available bone, and tissue bio-type; learning the key factors and pitfalls of site evaluation via 2D vs 3D technologies, implant design, implant surfaces, and the choices necessary to provide a predictable, prosthetic outcome and the hands-on placement of dental implants.

Our faculty is comprised of experienced periodontists and implant surgeons that will give you the confidence to launch the implant-portion of your practice by knowing which cases to treat and which should be avoided until advanced courses have been taken. You will gain the necessary surgical experience from flap incision to suturing to how to control post-operative bleeding, pain, and swelling. Students will be introduced to the latest techniques and materials for site development, computerized surgery, and complex, staged treatment planning. At the end of the course, students will have gained the basic skills for the predictable placement of dental implants.
There is no better way to learn or perfect a surgical procedure than performing them under close supervision with experienced clinicians, on LIVE PATIENTS.
